A creative half term workshop introducing children to the traditional Japanese art of Sashiko stitching and mindful upcycling.

Through simple hand-stitching techniques, participants will learn how to repair, decorate, and reimagine fabric while creating their own upcycled denim purse to take home. If time allows, they will also create a small stitched piece to turn into a greeting card.

The workshop encourages creativity, patience, and sustainable making in a relaxed and supportive environment. No previous sewing experience is needed. May 27 and May 28.

  • Ages 9+

  • 10am–2pm

  • East Sheen SW14

  • Please bring lunch and a water bottle

🪡 Guided 4-hour Sashiko workshop, with a half-hour lunch break

🌈 All materials provided

🧵 Hand-stitched upcycled denim purse to take home, if time permits a hand-stitched piece for a greeting card
